İslam is Submission
In today's world, the most fundamental human need is not water or food; it is the hunger for a sense of trust. While it may seem like people simply do not trust one another, every individual is primarily suffering from a crisis of self-confidence. Naturally, people try to convince themselves that they trust who they are, but based on the general conclusion of my previous blogs, we do not have absolute control over our bodies.
Our mind is not the only element affecting our physical presence; we have previously discussed the heart-soul connection. In this context, the concept we call fitra (innate nature) is essentially the soul's connection with the heart. As I mentioned in my earlier writings, the soul resides in the Elest Bezmi (The Primordial Covenant). I previously likened its bond with our earthly body to a magnetic wave. If we view this magnetic wave as fitra, we realize that our mind is not the sole controller of our physical body.
Furthermore, if we define the bond between the soul and the heart as fitra, we can evaluate our "earthly mind" as the nafs (the ego/self). Although not all parts of our mind serve the nafs, thoughts that we fail to bring to the level of consciousness can harm us, as it remains uncertain when they will emerge to alter our decisions.
In this regard, I believe it is possible to define the heart as the organ that connects with the soul, that established connection as fitra, and our subconscious as the nafs.
Consequently, a person's self-confidence does not rely solely on their intellect or behavior. Our soul already possesses a highly developed sense of inherent trust; however, the subconscious—which we call the nafs—uses various excuses to prevent us from trusting ourselves. When we follow our nafs and distance ourselves from the commands of Allah, we experience a crisis of trust. This, in turn, weakens all our vital functions.
This is why the final divine religion was named Islam, which symbolizes finding peace and feeling secure (trust). By sending this religion, Allah has shown mercy to all the worlds. Just as we say that matter naturally flows toward disorder (entropy), the advent of Islam has slowed this process down. Allah has shown mercy to the universe by allowing the feeling of trust to be experienced more tangibly.
