From Which Material Did the Creator Bring the Soul into Existence
From Which Material Did the Creator Bring the Soul into Existence
Some of us, in our deep philosophical inquiries, seek bases in the Qur'an, curious about what the actual concept of the Soul is. Most of us leave this question unanswered, saying 'this is knowledge from the Preserved Tablet (Levh-i Mahfuz), the data repository of this Holy Book, and we cannot know it.' We cannot know the knowledge of the Levh-i Mahfuz, of course, but the main question here is whether this specific knowledge is part of the Levh-i Mahfuz.
Is this concept actually present in the words of the Qur'an, the Holy Book? That is the critical point. In the Qur'an, when describing the creation of humans, Allah uses the phrase 'I breathed of My Spirit into him.' Those who wish to check can read the translation of Surah Hicr, verse 29 from the Diyanet translation.
So, what are we to understand from this? If our soul is a part of Allah's Spirit, from what material must our body in Elest have been made to carry such a grand soul integrity? Or since Allah created the human soul from a part of His Own Spirit, how do our real bodies in the Realm of Elest manage to carry a part of Allah's Spirit without losing its integrity?
If you wish, let me begin explaining my interpretations on this matter and why I think this way, one by one:
Since Allah owes nobody any lies, we must accept all His words as absolute truth. If Allah says He breathed of His own Spirit, this is true. This means our soul, dormant in the Realm of Elest, is a piece of Allah's Spirit. A body that can hold this within it could also be a part of Allah's existence. Therefore, in essence, our bodies in this world may only be mini-avatars of our bodies in the Realm of Elest. If we combine this with the Multiverse theory, each soul is actually a main node giving commands to infinitely many avatars. Each avatar in the Multiverse will return to the soul in Elest when its runtime in its own universe ends. The verse 'We have brought you into existence, and back to Us you shall be returned' appears in many places in the Qur'an. The explanation for this could be thus.
Furthermore, we may not even have a body belonging to our soul in Elest. This would support the claim that the highest station in the depictions of Paradise is with Allah, meaning the highest station in Paradise can be interpreted as being freed from a body and having no needs. This also summarizes the gradation among the servants in Paradise who possess everything.
You have probably read about the levels of the nafs (self), starting from nafs al-ammarah (the commanding self) to nafs al-mutmainnah (the peaceful self). You have also heard of self-discipline (nafs terbiyesi), which in essence means being content with little. If you are reading this, there is no reason for you not to see the big picture: While Allah explains these nafs levels and the logic of nafs discipline to us, His servants, through the hadiths of His Prophet, He has actually given an important code:
Our Prophet is at the level of nafs al-mutmainnah, where he is only with Allah, and furthermore, the depiction of Paradise having stacked layers is merely a description for understanding the conditions of the other worlds. That is, in Paradise, everyone will eat from the same table and breathe the same air. It's just that our Prophet (pbuh), who is nafs al-mutmainnah, will not be concerned with any being other than Allah, while the other persons in Paradise will have a connection with Allah that is a bit less intense because they are immersed in exploring the beauties of Paradise.
I do not wish to think about those destined for Hell. Therefore, I will not express an opinion on that.
This is my thought. I have infinite respect for opposing views. I just believe the verses in the Qur'an need to be considered more comprehensively.
I wish you a good day, Emre Pelit.
