Many people have pondered: “Granted, almost all religious beliefs speak of a Creator who holistically knows the concepts of past and future within our perception and governs them at will; however, what is the fundamental mechanism underlying this? In other words, how does the Creator know in advance who will do what and who will not—knowing, for instance, that the majority of Hell will be filled with humans and jinn—and if it is all so predetermined, why did He create all of this in the first place?”
In this regard, if I were to say that everything has actually already taken place long ago, and that we are merely watching our previous lives within this simulation in order to experience our existence through an objective lens—to question what we have lived through and witness our mistakes and their consequences firsthand—probably very few would object. For instance, in a verse from the Quran that I mentioned in one of my earlier writings, it is stated that when people depart from this world and return to their bodies in the Primordial Covenant (Bezm-i Elest), they will express astonishment, asking, “Who has awakened us from our sleep?” From this, we can deduce that our worldly life is essentially nothing more than a dream seen by our true soul during its slumber. Viewed from this perspective, everything has already happened and concluded; we have been sent to this world right now to experience what we previously lived through firsthand and to prepare our reckoning before Allah. As soon as this worldly life ends, we will be held accountable to Allah for what we have done.
Following these theological explanations, let us turn to the thermodynamic cost of utilizing information from the flow of time that coexists with entropy. Time flows rapidly where entropy is high, slows down where entropy is low, and when entropy reaches zero, time ceases to exist as a quantity altogether. Black holes, likewise, contain matter compressed into the size of a single pinpoint. What is observed from the outside is merely the vacuum field generated around this pinpoint. That is, from a star thousands of times larger than the Sun, only this tiny point remains. Consequently, its density is immensely high, which is why it creates a vacuum field spanning a vast area around itself. If a black hole possessed a mind, it would tell us that hundreds of thousands of years—which appear extraordinarily long to us—are in fact no more than a single fleeting moment.
The conclusion I am trying to reach from this is that when we consider Allah as the Greatest and the Origin of everything, it is entirely natural that He perceives our lifespan on Earth as a billionth of a single instant. Therefore, we must truly take seriously the eternal life that Allah has promised us after this world.
